Car Camping List of Supplies

 

Does it seem to you that when you go are camping that something always gets forgotten? Or is this your first time, and you don’t know what to take? Well, look no further! Sam’s miraculous list of car camping supplies is below.

Not everything on the list is necessary. You might not want an air mattress, or even tent, for example. Other things are just common sense. But, the main purpose of the list is to provide ideas, and prevent you from not taking something that is a actually important. What you need depends on what you want to have along. Misc.

 

  • Correct and relevant map(s)
  • Hotel guide(s)
  • Foldable chair(s)
  • Flashlight and/or lantern (also listed later)
  • Matches
  • Cord or ropes
  • Trash bag(s)
  • Books for passign time.
  • Music
  • Full tank of gas
  • Paper towels
  • Shovel
  • Tissues/handkerchiefs
  • Paper and pens
  • Mailing stamps for post card(s)
  • Bug and insect repellent
  • Work gloves
  • Personal effects? (cell phone, cell phone charger, money, etc…)
  • Emergency get stuck or lost stuff
  • Storage (boxes and stuff to put stuff in 5 gal. buckets, etc…)
  • Disposable plates and cups (cups can be used as bowls)

Toiletries

 

  • Drugs:
    • Pain killer(s)

    • Anti-itch lotion like Calamine
    • Cough drops
    • Cold medicine
    • Vitamins and/or dietary supplements

 

  • non drug toiletries:
    • Tweezers (to remove splinters, etc…)
    • Toilet paper (note: paper towels do fine)
    • Toothbrush
    • Toothpaste
    • Comb
    • Extra potable water for teeth brushing
    • Toenail clippers
    • Soap and shampoo if stop anywhere there are showers
    • Razor

 

Sleep & Stay

  • Cushioning pads and/or air mattress(es)

  • Small Pillows and pillow cases

  • Blankets and/or sleeping bags

  • Tent
  • Tarp
  • Lanterns
  • Towels if goining swimming or there are showers.

Food & Fire (see backpacking camping list for non-perishable items)

  • To keep stuff cold:
    • Food (such as meat, corn on the cob, etc...)
    • Dry ice
    • Ice
    • Ice chest

 

  • If doign any cooking....
    • Aluminum Foil (can wrap food in it, and cook directly in the fire. works well for corn on the cob)
    • Seasonings (salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, kimchi, etc…)
    • Drinking water
    • silverware
    • kitchen knives
    • Pancake turner(s)
  • Fire
    • Paper (pick-up free newspapers, coupon books, raid recycling bins, or save junkmail)
    • Axe/hatchet fof splitting logs, and breaking large branches, found near campsite..

 

Clothes

  • Shoes (may want extra in case they get soaked)
  • Socks (may want extra in case they get soaked)
  • Pants (usually better than shorts)
  • Shirts
